Joanne:Ride the cable cars over the Derwent Valley and then take a tour of the caves. There's an adventure playground and coffee shop at the top too! My nephew's loved it!

Joanne:You can access the traffic-free trail around Carsington Water directly from our grounds. The 8-mile loop is perfect for family walks and cycling, or even your morning jog!

Joanne:Very local and a lovely place to visit. There' s a coffee shop (when they are allowed to open) and fantastic views from the top.

Joanne:One of the most iconic pictures you'll see from the Peak District is of people walking across the stepping stones in Dovedale. A definite must!

Joanne:There are a range of activities to try here - hire a bike to go around the water or get out onto the reservoir. You can organise fishing, paddle-boarding, sailing and raft building (and much more) here.

Joanne:Less than five minutes from Stainsborough Hall - hire a cycle at Middleton Top and you are straight onto the High Peak Trail.

Joanne:If you want to try the Tissington Trail - you can hire a bike at its base in Ashbourne. It's a steady incline going out of Ashbourne, but great for coming back at the end.

Joanne:This is our closest pub and an easy walk over the fields. They don't operate a booking system at the moment and they do accept dogs! Now under new management, all the reports I'm hearing are good.

Joanne:A great old-fashioned pub that is a good walk from Stainsborough. They serve ales from the kegs on the bar and it has a lovely ambience.

Joanne:A very good walk (or short drive), this pub does huge meals and great pub grub. Book in advance - it's popular.

Joanne:Re-opened after an extensive renovation a couple of years ago. The food is very good and it's surprisingly large with some nice views. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
