Split - places you don't want to miss!

Romana:Home made ice cream in many special and surprising flavors! Don't be surprised if you have to wait in line, this is the best ice cream of Split and you are not the only one who knows!

Romana:There are two restaurant; one in the front of the house where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. And one on the other side of the house you will find restaurant Cucina Mare. In a romantic courtyard filled with citrus trees there is a terrace and show kitchen, where they offer also cooking classes. The products they use such as potatoes, honey, fruits, eggs, cheese and pršut are from theire own farm. On the menu they also have a large variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Romana:You have to be here for a healthy and delicious breakfast. Especially on hot summer days, I am a big fan of acaibowls. Luckily, they are on the menu together with various types of smoothie bowls.

Romana:Israel is coming to Croatia! This is one of the few places where you can eat falafel and also very good ones. There are 3 types of falafel: beef, shrimp and green. You can also order salads and hummus bowls.

Romana:Just outside of Split, in the village of Podstrana lies beach club Gooshter. The beach club is located directly on the beach and for 200 kuna (€ 27) per day you can rent a bed here. Great decor, good music, good service and good food in the restaurant. You really want to stay here all day!

Romana:One of my favorite restaurants in Split. Great service, delicious food, extensive wine list and a beautiful location in the middle of Diocletian's Palace. Try to reserve a table in the alley, these are the most beautiful and romantic tables!

Romana:You will find this small, cute restaurant in a narrow alley in the old town. Make sure you are here before 6.30 pm to get a seat. Outside there are only 2 tables and inside there is room at the bar or 1 of the 6 tables. For a place that is a favorite for many locals, you may have to wait. The menu card changes daily and the dishes are based on what is fresh that day. You don't have to be here for fine dining, but if you want authentic, fresh and well-prepared but simple food then you have to be here.

Romana:In the middle of the narrow streets of the old center of Split is the Uje Oil bar. There is a restaurant with a large terrace and just around the corner from this restaurant you will also find the Uje Oile winebar

Romana:This traditional restaurant is located in the middle of Diocletian's palace, just for the location you have to go here. There is a lot of seafood on the menu, definitely try the seafood risotto. For the deardevils there are also frog legs in a paprika sauce on the menu.

Romana:Bokeria has been open since 2015 and since then the real hotspot in Split. The owners were inspired by l’boqueiria, the famous market in Barcelona. They tried to create this same vibe in Bokeria and they succeeded! On the menu you will find different Croatian dishes in "tapas" style and lots of good Croatian wines.

Romana:One of the most special dinning locations in Split. On the roof of an old building, against the walls of Diocletian's palace and with a beautiful view of the boulevard and the sea. The kitchen is modern Mediterranean, every dish really looks and tastes great!

Romana:This restaurant is really a must visit. Matoni is located in a basement of a century-old building and the decor and atmosphere is absolutely good. They serve typical Croatian dishes but slightly different than in most places. Consider gnocchi with duck breast and a lamb liver stew. You wouldn't think so but they also have many vegetarian and even vegan dishes!

Romana:This new hotspot has only just opened but is already a success. In this beautiful old inner garden you imagine yourself on a film set, this is the theme in which they have decorated their "kinoteka" which means cinema. The kitchen is Asian / Croatian and every dish is delicious. Also don't forget to order a cocktail from their extensive cocktail menu!

Romana:This is my favorite beach in Split. From the beach you have a beautiful view of the sea and the Marjan hill. Here you will also find Joe’s Beach Lounge & Bar, ideal for when you need a day of luxury. Here you can rent the best sunbeds from Split and you do not have to leave them as you can order drinks and snacks from you.

Romana:This pebble beach can be found at the foot of Marjan's park, half an hour's walk from the old center or 15 minutes by bus 12. The beach with azure blue water and palm trees is one of the most beautiful in Split. There is little shelter on the beach, but you can go to Kafic Obojena Svjetlost for the necessary shade and coolness.

Romana:Bacvice beach is a 15-minute walk away. The beach is slowly getting deep, which means it has a nice temperature to swim in even in the early and late season. Another advantage of the Bacvice beach is that the sunbeds are nice and affordable! Just a stone's throw away is the beach bar Zbirac where the chilled beers are waiting for you!

Romana:This hostel in the old center is located in an old department store that was transformed in 2016 into a beautiful hostel with a cinema, large terrace, bar and lounge. You can choose a bed in a shared room or a private room. A bed costs € 30 and a private room for 2 people € 85.

Romana:Every bed in this hostel represents a Croatian island. From your bed you can read all the information about the island on the walls. This hostel has 19 rooms and they all have a shower and WC.

Romana:Vila Baguc is located in the Old Town, a 5-minute walk from the Diocletian's Palace. From your room you can easily walk into the historic city center. The rooms are also decorated in this style, with stone walls and a hardwood floor. For a double room incl breakfast you pay € 140 per night.

Romana:The studios have a double bed, bathroom, TV, kitchen, microwave, safe and air conditioning. As soon as you walk out the door you are immediately in the old center of Split and all sights are within walking distance.
