What to expect?

Explore the majestic winter scenery of the Northeastern Pyrenees on a very cool snowshoeing trip with a local certified guide. We will head north from Barcelona, and it will not take long until we spot the Pyrenees.

We will pass through a town called Ribes de Freser to pick up the snowshoes and other gear. Once arriving at the Roc Blanc parking close to the La Molina ski resort we will pack our backpacks and head out to enjoy snowshoeing through a winter wonderland surrounded by deep black pine forest with spectacular panoramic views. *Depending on the current snow conditions I may alter the exact snowshoeing area in order to provide the best possible experience to my guests.

This full-day outing is for those who enjoy the snow and are thrilled to get away from the crowds and perhaps try something new. There is very little limitation to participating in this activity as snowshoeing is genuinely intuitive and safe. We will follow the animal footprints in the snow and learn about the wildlife present in the Pyrenees. We may see a Roe deer or a Pyrenean chamois as we progress towards the summits.

Around lunchtime, we will find a cozy picnic spot to rest a bit and enjoy our packed meals. I will provide some seasonal fruit and warm tea to all participants. During our break, we will get the real hands-on experience in snow shelter building using an avalanche probe and a shovel.
