Calle de Ferraz, 1, 28008 Madrid, Spain
I had incredibly high expectations of the temple after visiting a similar temple inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The idea that this temple is outdoors really intrigued me. They have had to make the structure weather resistant which takes a little away from the architecture and experience. And the surrounding pool was drained of water. The line at 11am on a Saturday morning to actually walk along and inside the temple was about 50 people long as the number of people actively in the structure are managed. The views of the city are nice from the park surrounding the temple.
This is one of my favourite places in Madrid, unfortunately I give just 2 stars because they removed the water surrounding the temple and that lost all the magic... Is not the same pictures without water and reflections..anyway try to visit in the sunset, it's a good city view point for sunset and the temple looking better with the lights on
The line was too long so we didn't go inside. Nothing about the temple written anywhere outside. Googling it was interesting. An interesting place with nice views across the city. No water in the fountains.
We were in the queue for quite some time. Temple is quite small and most of the rooms were closed for some reason. Staff is friendly and everything is very organized. Entrance is free and it is made in groups of maybe 30 people. If the queue is not long it is worth the visit, if not you can pass.
Great place to watch de sunset. Great views from the city. Lots of coffee shops and places to explore nearby. It’s also a great idea to buy some coffee and snacks and just chill on the grass watching the organice colors of the sun against the ancient stones of the temple, with an amazing city view on the other side
