A nice restaurant with great location the food is good but we went for lunch and there was only another table at that time. One of them was all the time at his mobile disturbing us but the worst was to come: a woman joined that table and the woman was making a video call on the speaker of the phone. When we complained, the stiff Anastasia that works there informed us that it was the owner Maria Jose San Roman! So the owner of a one star Michelin restaurant finds it normal to disturb the only 2 clients she had in the room to do a video call using the loudspeaker! Can you imagine how we felt we were doing a gourmet meal in a supposed fancy restaurant The food is not the only criteria in the Michelin star system.

Lovely evening. Great food and perfect service. María José San Román is down-to-earth, friendly and clearly passionate about her food and the experience of dining at Monastrell. There aren’t many Michelin-starred restaurants where the top chef is so welcoming and enjoys personally interacting with guests so much. Highly recommended.

Beyond perfect. I was challenged to appreciate new combinations of flavours, and every of these combinations was a revelation. Especially the egg yolk with carrot juice, and the red prawn with saffron infused olive oil and pomegranate (even elevated by the accompanying Riesling) proved that one can always discover new tastes. And this were only the highlights amongst highlights.
