Mercado de La Boqueria, La Rambla, 91, 08002 Barcelona, Spain
We got a table when we arrived at 9:30am as it was raining. The chef shown in the photo had such a bright warming smile (couldn’t capture it on photo)! The fried eggs and squid was absolutely out of this world! They also give you a bag of bread to soak up the yummy juice. Just a bit on the expensive side at €19.75. Their special sandwich with pork egg and asparagus was also delicious!
Super cute tapas / brunch stall in the middle of the busy market. You kind of hover over the high top chairs until you can get a seat. The turnover is quite quick, service and food are very efficient. We had the fried eggs and squid - very fresh, peppery and delicious. You speed up the process by handing your dishes and garbage to the guys behind your counter at the end.
I would give it a solid 4.5 stars! They had the best red sangria I had in spain. It tasted like it was infused with some cloves maybe? The food was also good and well prepared. Price is a bit on the above-average range. People behind the bar work really hard, are courteous and efficient!
Heard this was the spot to try in La Boqueria so we decided to check it out. It was pretty busy but we were able to snag some seats at the bar. Got their famous fried egg with baby squid and it was delicious. The only complaint I'd have is that they give out bread without mentioning it's an additional cost. When a simple dish costs $22, the bread should come for free.
Great food. The paella was loaded and the razor clams were amazing. They did run out of oysters before we got there around 7PM. The cava was good and priced right.
