A great place where you can get up close and personal with the penguins. They seem quite accustomed to people, though don't get too close when they have babies nearby. The wood platforms help you get close. There's a 'public' beach area where we saw sun bathers; not really our thing, but people seemed to love it. This is one of the top 5 Cape Town attractions. Swim with penguins! A very family friendly beach with calm sea water conducive to floating around in. The penguin sanctuary is a natural wonder, and the penguins are so sociable they will often swim with the people. A secluded, wonderfully maintained beach.

So may penguins on the beach! Loved our visit here. The penguins are well looked after. Beautiful place to visit well worth it. Nice restaurant nearby and adequate parking too.

This is a very special place. It is touted as the only place where humans can see the African penguin up close in their natural environment, although not too close as they are wild animals, even if they look cute. It is also important not too feed them. They are in fact an endangered species. Fortunately this lovely sheltered beach is part of the Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected AREA. This is a great place to visit. You can walk on the wheelchair friendly boardwalks to see the breeding penguins, but in other parts of the beach you can swim, explore the rock pools, and picnic, although no drinking or smoking is allowed. It is great for kids as the beach is relatively sheltered. There is also a visitors centre where you can learn more about these beautiful creatures and what can be done to protect them.

An absolutely beautiful long stretch of beach. Plenty of shade when the temperature soars. Adequate parking available, except for when it's super hot. A must when you visit Cape Town - the penguins even came out to put on a show.

Often crowded and for good reason - one can view many many penguins. Some laze on the sand while others swim and play. Really lovely to see them in a more natural habitat
