Wesley:American Fusion Bar and Grill. Using fresh local ingredients to deliver traditional & global flavors. Open Tuesday - Sunday, 4:30 - 9PM. Closed Monday. Reservations encouraged.

Wesley:Renamed Winter Harbor Provisions. Local full service market and deli. Fresh meats, produce, groceries, beer, wine. Lots of Maine-made products! Open 8am - 7pm. 9am -- 4pm on Sunday.

Wesley:Open Wednesday - Saturday, 7am - 2pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. Coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches. They also carry some artisan crafts and souvenirs.

Wesley:Don't be fooled. This "hot dog," cart is run by the former head chef of the Bar Harbor Inn and has the best lobster rolls you'll find in Acadia. Open 11am - 3pm. Will update days shortly.

Wesley:Upscale wrap and sandwich shop. Has a little a bit of everything -- specialty meats and cheeses, coffee, wine, chilled prosecco, beer, even nickel candies for the kids. Eat in or take out. I especially recommend the spicy breakfast sandwich. Open 7:30am - 2pm, Sat 8am - 2pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Wesley:Only open Friday - Sunday, 8AM - 12PM. Small, independently owned coffee and bakeshop. Former chef trained in Paris. Idiosyncratic hours. Call ahead to double-check they're open!

Wesley:Award-winning producer of Maine fruit wines! They have a tasting room open from June - October. Highly recommend. Our favorites are the Blueberry Oak Dry and Pear Dry.

Wesley:Popular take-out place. Unfortunately, the food can be hit or miss and the service is slow. If you go, I'd stick to the ice cream. Only place in the area with black raspberry soft-serve. Open every day, 11am - 7pm.

Wesley:Vazquez Mexican operated out of a food truck to service the migrant community working the blueberry fields in late summer. Their permanent take-out location now serves authentic Mexican with big portions and low prices.

Wesley:Great location serving classic Maine fare. On the other side of the Schoodic Loop. Open 12pm - 8pm, Tues - Saturday. Closed Sun - Monday. Kitchen closes at 7:30pm.

Wesley:OPENS MEMORIAL DAY. Open every day but Sunday, 11AM - 3PM. Lobster rolls, crab rolls and more in one of the most photographed fishing villages in America. BYOB.

Wesley:Opening May 22nd. Reimagined Maine classics, all locally sourced in a rustic local atmosphere. Reservations encouraged. Monday -Sat, 5-9pm. Closed Sunday.

Wesley:Artisan bell factory. If you're looking for one special souvenir to bring back with you -- this it. Bells and chimes for your front porch. They also make ship's bells.

Wesley:Downeast Windjammer Ferry service between Winter Harbor and Bar Harbor. 45 minutes across the bay to Bar Harbor where you can check out all the shops and restaurants.

Wesley:The Island Explorer features bus routes linking hotels, inns, and campgrounds with destinations in Acadia National Park and neighboring village centers.

Wesley:Closest fresh water swimming area. I've been swimming here since I was a kid. There are some picnic tables for lunches. Good place for fishing and kayaking too.

Wesley:Just outside Bar Harbor. A little pricey and small, but my kids absolutely loved it. Play on a lobster boat, look at real jellyfish and other marine life. There's a whale skeleton and a touch tank. There are also some trails around the marshlands. Bring bug spray.

Wesley:Alright. This is our secret beach. It's only a 10-15 minute drive away. The parking lot is small, but not usually full, 'cause it's a secret. About a 1/4 mile hike down to the ocean. Gorgeous views of Frenchman's Bay and best of all, my kids can just go play for hours at the edge of the water. Check the tides online. Low tide is best. At high tide there's not much beach left. And remember, it's secret... Shh...

Wesley:Three floors of booths with antiques. Everything from vintage clothes, to paintings, odds and ends, mittens and hats, you name it. I found a "courting candle" here most recently, which was an odd bit of history. 10am - 5pm daily, closes at 4pm on Sunday.

Wesley:I love this place. They have everything. Lots of old Maine stuff. A few booths with vintage baseball cards in their original packs. There's a booth full of Maine only books. We got our copy of Blueberries for Sal here. I don't get the negative reviews at all. Almost all antique stores smell musty. The woman who runs it is a classic Mainer. My son manages to get a free toy out of her every time. Anyway, my go-to, for what it's worth.

Wesley:Not just books (though there are lots of those). It's an enormous former chicken barn turned into a massive antiques place. The original antique place in the area.

Wesley:You'll pass it on your drive up. Eclectic and full of amazing items, it's a fun visit. I find the prices to be a little less friendly here, but once in a while I'll splurge on something special.

Wesley:An odd lot if there ever was one. I find all kinds of great deals on clothes here. My wife loves the shoes. Marden's is a Maine institution. Come see what the fuss is about.

Wesley:You never know what you'll find here. Probably the best prices of the bunch, but maybe not the best inventory. Worth a look! Check ahead for days/hours.
