Gros Piton, St Lucia
The climb was challenging at times, but it was worth it. The guides were fantastic! The hike is broken into four parts with a resting area between each part. The view at the top is great. There are railings and steps along much of the path.
We spent a week in St Lucia and Pitons were a highlight ofnour trip. They are grand, gorgeous and a major attraction sight here. Any boat ride to Soufriere would give a great view of these. We got a glimpse of these also from our road trip to the volcano via car as well.
Beautiful and amazing hike to the top. Worth every moment of the hike. Takes around 2 hours or more to reach the top. Depends on your stamina. You will need to pay and get a local guide to bring you up and down the piton. Bring water for the hike.
I loved this hike. There were great views and we had excellent guides (excursion booked through Sandals). Be warned, it is not an easy trek and there are some fairly steep areas. You will want to have plenty of water and appropriate shoes.
Spent a lot of time driving around the island and loved the divers landscapes.
