The fortress looks imoressive from outside. There is also s helipad just outside the fortress. The entrance is not indicated by any board. One has to ask around. It is quite a distance from the main road along the embankment. The main cathedral is adorned with beautiful carvings and murals. But, they charge separately for each museum which is not justified.

Must visit. A nice place to get a panoramic view of the the coastline of st Petersburg. Don’t miss the panorama view. You can also walk along the fort from the outside. Once done with the tour you can then take a boat ride for 1 hour along the canals of st Petersburg which starts from the fort

This place is so beautiful that you must go and see,walking inside the fortress is like walking back in time, you can see a beautiful church and the prison and the main barracks, you can spend half a day in there and you won't be able to see everything, and if you want to close the day like a king, you can also do a helicopter ride around st Petersburg for 5000 rubles per person and is a beautiful experience.

One of my favorite places in Saint-Petersburg. First of all it's the all time historical place. The birth place of the city. So deeply connected with the history of Russia in general. The cathedral is a burial place of all the emperors from Romanovs dynasty. Wonderful view over the city line across the Neva river. You can take a helicopter ride over the city, starting at the wall of the fortress.
