Alejandra:The Chapel of the Virgen del Rosario is the chapel attached to the Temple of Santo Domingo in the city of Puebla, Mexico. A work from the 17th century, the summit of New Spain's baroque, it was described in its time as La Casa de Oro, as well as the eighth wonder of the world by Fray Diego de Gorozpe, in a 1690 print.
Alejandra:The construction of this building was thanks to Mrs. Ángela Roldán who, when she died, inherited her patrimony so that a Jesuit college was built. Later it became a penitentiary, inaugurated in 1891 by General Porfirio Díaz. It was the most avant-garde penitentiary in America at the time.
Alejandra:The building has an important historical and architectural value, related to the origins of industrialization in the country. The main objective of this complex is to link society with culture, promoting interest and access to knowledge, so that education is promoted through the enormous historical wealth and traditions.
