This is a great palace to tour as a group, it's not usually busy and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. There's also a cafe and gift shop with a small selection of goods. The palace itself is filled with historically accurate rooms, with beautiful paintings and furniture. As you walk through the rooms it's great to learn about the lives of the former inhabitants, and their very entangled familial relationships. I recommend a stroll through the neatly kept gardens.

A magnificent historic place. Beautiful and very well preserved palace. I went there for a theater piece I've loved it. It has as also a in place restaurant that I'm willing to go to.

The Palace is very pretty with lots of rooms to see and information to read, both in English and Portuguese. The gardens were pretty, but may only require a quick visit.

Had a company dinner here which the staff was amazing. First had cocktails and appetizers in the garden while actors in period clothes engaged with guests. Next we were taken through the palace while actors and singers performed. Into the majestic ballroom with paintings and a massive and decorated ceiling we went, and feasted on a decadent meal. Many servers ensured water, wine and food kept you full. An incredible Fado singer and band sealed the night. Everyone had an amazing time and remarked how incredible it was.

Another lovely staged home of the rich and famous. While these palaces give you a taste of the extravagance of the nobility of the time, there needs to be a narrative from provided literature to what you are seeing. The furniture is lovingly restored pieces from a number of different areas an worth seeing, but it is a bit of a hodge podge mixture if different areas. This place is more of a museum than a home. The boating Lake and garden is something you don't see every day.
