Is this the world’s most beautiful bookshop? Tourists and locals may agree it’s worth a visit to decide for yourself. Due to it’s popularity there is a small entrance fee redeemable against purchases. If you’re a tourist buy a copy of the store history for the cost of the fee. Tickets are available a few doors up the street once you have a ticket the queue isn’t long. Be mindful of other patrons and move off the stairs.
A gorgeous book shop, definitely worth visiting. There's a €5 fee to get in, but you get it back if you buy something (and there's a great selection of books). Gave it 4/5 only because of the crazy crowds (there's a line to get in and once inside it's very crammed).
Rated as the world's most beautiful bookstore and I'd agree with that statement. The staircase is the obvious centerpiece but the rest of the place is equally impressive. My favorite nuance was the small busts of the authors above their sections of written works.
Amazing bookstore. Had read about it in the States and it was one of the top sites I wanted to visit in Porto. Be aware that you need to purchase a ticket from the store to the left of the libraria first. I waited in line for over half an hour before I realized that...another 30 min. to get the ticket and back in line again for another 45 min. Was it worth it? Yes!!
Great marketing. They charge 5 euros for the entrance but you can get 5 euros back if you buy a book. Great librarian, helped me to choose a book and i was very happy about the choice. And obviously the place os beautiful
