Nice waterfall. A bit touristy, but that's to be expected when there's not much effort to reach the falls and it's close to a major town. Worth a visit, in my opinion. Love seeing waterfalls that start wayyyyyy up in the mountains, and this fits the bill!
Really nice. Tough terrain to access it, which I liked. To easy and it's over crowded in these areas. The hot springs where amazing and the waterfall stunning. Make sure you can swim if you go here! Also, listen to the workers telling you to leave if that happens, the stream can flood in seconds and raise 4 meters, you can be trapped for hours if you don't leave when they tell you to.
Great trip and amazing place
Beatiful water fall, very nice walk and super relaxing endind at the baños termales
Amazing! Even if the waterfalls aren't that difficult, the place is beautiful and relaxing (if you came early by 8am before the tourist). To get to the place by yourself you'll have to take a collectivo from the terminal terrestre (turismo selva) of Tarapoto direction Yurimaguas, ask the driver to drop you by the catarata Pishurayacu, it's a after the town San Jose, on the km 34 of the road, it'll cost you 10soles. There you'll have to buy the entrance 5soles, and walk about 30 minutes to reach the first point: the raft to cross the river and access the thermal baths, then you have to walk 15min to see the waterfalls. Be ready to walk in nature, take basket or hiking shoes, dress in consequence, and don't forget swimsuit, towel and repellent for mosquitoes. Plus a waterproof bag is nice, because if you fall of the raft your things will be safe :)
