You will meet up by the harbour at Scandic Ishavshotel where the Golden Eagle and a very knowledgeable skipper are waiting for you. Once you hopped aboard the catamaran you will receive a floatation suit that won’t just keep you safe, but also warm and snuggly at all times. After a short welcome and safety briefing it is time to set sail. From here on you are free to either stay inside the heated saloon or go outside and lay on the net of the spacious catamaran or perhaps ask the skipper about the navigation of the boat. The best thing about witnessing the northern lights from the sea is that you can move along with the light, experience lady aurora dancing above you, and still be able to stay warm and grab a coffee or snack at all times. Moreover, sailing through the arctic fjords at polar night is already a memorable experience of its own. The skipper won’t just bring you to the best spots with the highest chances of seeing the lights, but will also prepare some homemade fish soup for you from the day’s fresh catch.
