KM 9 1/2 Carretera a Masaya, Managua, Nicaragua
A beautiful old town filled with colonial style buildings and many churches. I would recommend the horse drawn carriage tour to really get a feel of the city. Our driver was great to tell us much of is history and answer any questions one may have.
Good views. But the carriage tour wasn't so good. Some guides were better than others. Try to get one that speaks english .
One of the nicest old cities in Central America, waaaay affordable prices and stays! really safe and wear fresh or summer clothes because is hot!
Granada is lovely but The community officials need to do something about those children giving you "free flowers" made from coconut leaves... I cannot describe what a horrifying experience we had a week ago... They literally stalked us... STALKED US... They forced us to give them money... They followed us in the cathedral! When I gave one of them coins he LITERALLY told me what I gave him was not enough! I was shocked! Never experienced anything like that ever.I always keep change to give to kids on the street but these guys were following us so much that we got scared and had to leave. Do something about this please, get them into a shelter, provide food for them, send them to school, get them off the streets, create programs for them. But I am def not going back there.
The park is just beautiful, little and colonial looking takes you back in time and gives you a gorgeous light show when the sun goes down. The only bad thing about it is the carts with the horses that make part of the park smell like horse piss all the time
