Rolleston Ave, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8013, New Zealand
The exhibits are engaging and informative. A great variety of exhibits were displayed. You can see a variety of Maori historical artifacts and interactive exhibits. There is a small shop inside to purchase good souvenirs. It's free entry but it's up to you if donate.
Entry is free however a donation is recommended. The museum has a great variety of exhibits that are wonderfully displayed and itemised with a full description of the artifacts and what they were used for. There is definitely something here for all ages, this museum is worth your time and by the end of it your donation is well worth it. By far the best museum I have been too of lately.
One of the best museums in NZ - without a doubt. Plus, the Botanical Gardens are next door. They are one of the top 10 gardens in the world.
There is a lot to see. Allow at least 2 hours or more. Plus there's tea in the cafe. All the displays are well done. My personal favorite was the birds of New Zealand.
Was there in May 2019. It’s very educational and lovely to see the effort put in to get those display items. I guess that’s what a museum is for . They don’t charge admission fee however they do ask for a volunteered donation after you completed your visit . Which I felt , was very sweet of them. One can donate according to how much you felt as appreciative of their efforts in putting all those exhibitions together.
