The waves are very rough as there isn't a very gentle incline in the slopes. However, it is a lovely place still for picnics on a warm day. Lovely coloured rocks to admire and pick as a souvenir or two.

Great place to visit. Love the rocks and totally recommend checking out the gem museum. Great wee hidden attraction 😄

Very different beach from other Canterbury ones. Museum was cute and crammed full of interesting fossils and gemstones
