Loved the whole atmosphere of this very interesting place of Ann Frank's the only thing that put the whole thing was the school children that were there. before we went into the house everyone was told that no one was allowed to take photos of any of the items that were on show and my party where quiet aware of this but these children did as they wanted and at one stage they were told to keep the noise down and rightly so and this took away some of the atmosphere away from our visit but I can only wish that this will be sorted out but I hope to get a chance to buy one of her books to read.

The title “cheese museum” conjures up imagery of exhibitions of Dutch cheese, its lineage, traditional cheese making process and varietals all presented at a scale which will be rapidly rattled when coming here. That said, you are likely here in the hope of snuffling a generous amount of cheese samples. This will easily be satiated. Truth be told, this is a cheese shop under the banner of a museum. There is a small exhibit underneath the shop which briefly addresses the making of Dutch cheese. You can also wear a few items and take photos (all good fun). However the broad variety of cheese upstairs is the real star of the show with an impressive selection of Gouda and other options both for sample and for sale. The staff are helpful and patient to explain and help you with purchases. There are signs next to each cheese explaining what it is and its ingredients. Would I come back? Absolutely. If you are passing by the area, it’s well worth stopping in. It’s free!

A cheese shop in Amsterdam (very near the House of Anne Frank) that offers numerous different cheeses, the varieties are almost beyond count. Every cheese can be tried, some are offered with fruit jams. Cheeses are packed in vacuumed, labeled plastic bags so they can pass customs freely. Shipping of larger amounts all over the world is also available. The museum is in the shop's basement. The visitor thoroughly goes through the process of cheese production and it's short history. It's very interesting and worth visiting.

Simply a must, entry free, tasting cheese free. -1 level small museum. Lovely staff and when you travel you can pass the cheese at airport security so no problem for that. :)

Such an unexpected delight - one of my favourite stops in Amsterdam! The staff were lovely and knowledgeable, the downstairs museum was a delight, and you could try EVERY SINGLE CHEESE. I was in cheesey heaven.
