It's a best place to visit especially when you wanted to hang out with friends. There is the collection of pictures, maps and sculptures as well;with some of the fossils of animals. If you are willing to come to Pokhara then one of your destination should be International Mountain Museum.

We left from the Davis Fall and decided to head for the International Mountain Museum which was not far from there. The place was quite nice with all the history of the world's highest mountain ranges and peaks. There is a lot of space for improvement though inside the museum for international tourists.

You can get a good information regarding mountaineering n mountains , history of mountaineering , information about how people who reached to the highest points on earth ,who are first soo on . The best part I have seen is all the equipments required for mountain trekking is kept in here along with there use too even the small things like different knots . We will have a small video presentation on formation , present situation of Himalayan mountain range , even how climbing towards the highest peak on the upper surface of earth is done is shown in this video. At the start itself we go through different ethnic groups that live in mountain ranges in different parts big the world . We can have a glimpse of difference between the people of Alps and Himalayan ranges.

This place is a treasure hold of history and culture. Amazing place with relics, artifacts, information about mountaineering, nepali people, geography, himalayas, climate change, equipments, stories etc etc... One needs a whole day to thoroughly learn and explore the place, even that would not be quite enough. I spent six n half hours in the museum but still could not complete everything. The only thing is you must be interested about mountains and culture to enjoy it to the full extent.
