Kun Chan Rd, ရန်ကုန်, Myanmar (Burma)
An incredible experience. The entire train ride takes about 3 hours, would highly recommend the whole route if you have the time. Go through all parts of Yangon and get to see the inner parts of the city you may not otherwise come across as a tourist.
If you like rugged transportation and country life, don’t miss this ride. It’s a ride of a lifetime. Costing MMK200 each the trains starts at Yangon Central station and make a 3-hour loops back to Yangon. Come prepared with snacks and water for I don’t think you wanna savour the food by the itinerant hawkers onboard. The train has no doors nor windows so it all au natural with people hopping on and off with their wares bought from the city for sales in the villages. Each stop would see different hawkers parading their wares from iPhone jacks to noodles to fruits. It’s a mesmerising experience. After an hour we hopped off at Insein and took a cab to the city just to see the sights. And hopped onto the opposite bound train for Yangon. Make sure you ask the station master for the correct train.
