Things to do in Morocco

The Sahara desert, the Atlas mountains, the souks, spices and goats climbing high up in the trees. Morocco is a place you must visit at least once in your lifetime. I visited during Ramadam which was a really interesting experience. Here are all of my favourite places 🤩

Marrakech 🌴

The souks in Marrakech are like nothing else. But NEVER buy anything without haggling - 1/2 or 1/3 of the original asking price is usually normal.

Jemaa el-Fna
Þórey:The place of all the places to be. Gets really busy at night with all the food stalls coming out. I don't recommend eating there, overpriced food and not good. But the guys from all the food stalls are really aggressive in trying to get you to eat at their place.

Þórey:Great place for drinks late at night (expensive but 2 for 1 on many drinks). Tiny entrance from the street but a really big place when you enter the upper levels. When we were there they had a show going on with belly dancers and women dancing with 10 candles on a plate on their head! Really amazing to watch 😯

Þórey:If you are tired of all the tagines and are in need of a more "western" type of moroccan food then this is a nice place (but in return a lot more expensive). Nice vegetarian dishes here.

Essaioura 🌬

Also known as the city of winds. If you are dying of heat in Marrakech, this is the place to go! Paradise for kite surfers, cheaper prices on the souks, less crowded and more relaxed, totally recommend it! Take a walk by the beach during the day and explore the endless restaurants in the medina at night.

Þórey:This tiny place was our favourite restaurant in all of Morocco! The omelette with tomatoes is the best omelette I have ever had!! Jalil is great, speaks good English and the food is SO good and SO cheap!

Þórey:We rented our car here, no problem and really good service! Recommend to reserve through the internet, you get better price there than on the office it self.

Þórey:Amazing old monument that was in a lot of films like Gladiator, The Mummy and even in some episodes of Game of Thrones. Recommend going at sunrise to avoid the crowds and have the place to yourself 🤩

Riad Chay
Þórey:If you are looking for a local Riad to stay in close to Ourzazate I recommend this. Try to book the room with the balcony - the view from there is incredible 🤩
