Meet your guide at the marina in Captain's Cove restaurant on Boulevard
Kukulkan in the Hotel Zone at either 9am or 1pm. Hop aboard the boat and head
for the tropical paradise of Nichupte Lagoon, an area of seven turquoise lakes
and serene canals lined by mangroves.
As you reach the Punta Nizuc, located at the southern tip of Cancun, don your
snorkel gear. This is the closest reef to the hotel zone, well protected
within a national marine park. Dive in and admire the native flora and aquatic
life—turtles, starfish, lobsters and many other species that live among the
corals.
Punta Nizuc also features fascinating underwater sculptures. They look like
sunken ancient statues, but they're actually modern sculptures built of pH-
neutral concrete, which attracts marine life and helps preserve the precious
coral reef. Best of all, the sculptures sit only 13 feet (4 meters) below the
surface. Snorkel equipment, a bilingual guide, water, and soft drinks are
included.
After you've had your fill of this aquatic paradise, you'll be taken back to
the marina where you began your excursion. Snorkel equipment, your bilingual
guide, water, and soft drinks are included.
