Definitely worth taking the cable car up and having something good in the Monte Taxco restaurant. The ride is short but the experience is great.

English review here: we walked up to the Mirador, then walked up to Monte Taxco resort to catch the cable car down. Like many reviewers wrote, it's a little expensive for such a short ride. The view isn't mind blowing and the ride isn't that smooth. I read that this cable car is owned by the 2 resort's it connects, which explains why my wife had to walk all the way back to the resort to buy our tickets, and it also explains why it's expensive in comparison to most teleferico's; the government isn't subsidizing it's operation costs with our taxes, the 16% IVA everyone pays does go to this. At least it saved my knees from having to walk down, but it's a "pass" in my opinion.

Take the little van bus or "combi" from the Zocalo (catch it right near the steps of Santa prisca) each Combi will have a number of destinations written on it, find the one with teleferico written on it. The bus waits about 10 minutes in the zocalo and then takes off with a few stops on the way up the steep steep streets to the cable way. The cost is eight pesos and you don't have to pay until you get off if it's crowded. If it's not crowded and the driver the money at a convenient time for him.

This was quite an experience but it was lovely. I've been to a few gondolas around the world and this one was a little bit different. Every time you arrive at one of those metal stations along your ride, you'll feel a little "bump" but nothing too concerning. The view is AMAZING. You get to see the gorgeous Taxco scenery with all the white houses and the natural view of the mountains. A definite must. A cab charged us 35 pesos from the Zocalo. Do it! Very safe and fun. Remember to stop for a drink at the Montetaxco hotel, relax and then take the ride back!
