We went to Nicksan tonight for dinner. The food was good, but we paid cash. We counted the cash twice because numerous people contributed. (No one drank any alcohol.) As we left the restaurant, the host came out and said we didn’t leave enough money. He said there was a hundred dollars less than we left. He quickly said, “we have cameras if you want to go look…” which was just too quick of a retort. We are positive somewhere between the restaurant door and him catching us on the street, he pocketed the money. So, I would say pay by card or only give the money to the waitperson while you wait. Lesson learned.
Great place and one of the places where you have the most fresh fish while ordering sushi. Ask for the lobster special roll and the tuna tostadas, you will not regret it. DELICIOUS! Great service from staff and location couldn't be better.
Fine service and the sushi had a nice flavor, but you could not pick up most pieces with the chopsticks without it falling apart. It's a rather grandiose setting, and overpriced . I'll also maintain that it's bad form to guess at what amount the customer would like to tip or to even assume they want to leave one, "How much for a tip, 15, 20%?"
We have been coming to Nic San many years, and the past few years, the quality and service has been deteriorating. Last night, the food we ordered was substandard and service was not great. On top of all, they charged us $22 mire than what it should have been. Luckily I caught it before we paid and got it corrected after my husband already paid the wrong amount. I was shocked at the total cost and only then I looked at the total bill amount that was itemized. I Do not recommend this place
Average Japanese/Sushi restaurant in Cabo San Luca... Terrible parking. We ordered a number of sushi rolls - including hand rolls. Spicy pan fried fish, baked scallops with crab meat and shrimp & vegetable tempura. The rolls were just average. Presentation was really simple. The baked scallops with crab meat was too rich with cream... You could not discern what was in it. The fried fish had curry flavor to the sauce and was too strong to enjoy the fish. The asparagus and bean with the dish were good. The pasta was just meh. The tempura was the only item we really enjoyed - great and light batter and just as good as any restaurant in Osaka or Tokyo. That was their saving grace... Price point is high however.
