I would give LaTerraza restaurant zero stars if I could without even having had a meal there. First, I must admit, the location and views are amazing, right on the beach in the Golden Zone neighborhood of Mazatlan. Despite that, there is no beach access, even though there are 2 separate beach entrances. The restaurant always has tons of empty seating, but for whatever reason, there is always a 30 minute line to be seated. Additionally, if you try to enter from the beach side, the staff immediately asks you to enter from the street front entrance in an uncharacteristicly rude manner based on Mazatlán standards. To get to the front you have to walk 10 minutes away go up a block and walk 10 minutes back to the restaurant. All in all, don't waste your time with La Terraza because the only reason one should ever consider that place is if they just want to get 3 thousands steps in to just get to the restaurant and enjoy waiting in unnecessary lines for mediocre food.

First day at Hotel Playa Mazatlan came to La Terraza for lunch and a beer while we waited for our room to be readied. Our waiter was very nice but we were told my all inclusive doesn’t take effect until precisely 13:00 and it was only 12:10 so i would have to pay for my beer for the next 50 minutes. Then I was going to order off the menu with my all inclusive and was informed that only the Buffet was all inclusive nothing from the menu covered.
