Xatt is-Sajjieda, Marsaxlokk, Malta
We went to the Sunday market. There were some stalls selling fish but many of the stalls were selling the usual market tat with one or two selling tourist mementos. It was very crowded and in the crush my purse was taken from my bag so beware. The harbour is very pretty though.
Excellent market, Sundays have lots to choose from. Very good for fresh fish, bakery and green groceries. An atmosphere buzzing with colour, culture, all kinds of people of all ages and culture.
Beat place for souvenirs, but Sunday can be very crowded and food prices double their fare. For produce and local cookies like big fig rolls, go on Sunday. Otherwise, best during week - less crowds also means you will get better pictures
You can find pretty much everything here, prices aren't too bad. Fresh fish is especially popular every Sunday. Most sellers accept cash only and could get quite crowded late morning.
Good place to enjoy your Sunday and save your money. The fishes are great and always fresh, but you also can find any kind of things there. There are so many restaurant options!
