It's nice and easy to go to the castle. Or you can take different hiking routes from the top. You can also see it as little attraction, with a return ticket you can get to the top and you can go down. At the top there is a small restaurant with a great view!

Great views of the Castle, We knew, that this was not a "short cut" to the castle and simply made a dedicated return trip - with Coffee/Ice creaams at the top. A lovely addition to your time in Beautiful Vianden

Only cash payments. The view up isn't great and the castle can be easily (and faster) reached by foot when visiting the nearest ATM.

Well the ride can be a bit scary for people afraid of heights since this is an open chair-car without any enclosures or anything.. the ride keeps stopping at times to accommodate for people getting in, that's when it might be scary. I am moderately afraid of heights and hence this detailed explanation. On top there's a restaurant/bar with a beautiful view of the castle.. Also there's a way from the top to the castle directly through the forest. We missed the ride down the sessellift, and I think that's the more interesting one..
