Came here for my 1st Sumo wrestling match experience. Book our tickets online and redeem in at the stadium counter. Place is huge! Friendly and approachable staff to help you get to your seats. Food and drinks stall available. But no halal food for those asking. Very near to the metro station. Wrestler were friendly and will stop for photos!
This was my first time experience visiting Ryōgoku Kokugikan. If you want a ticket, show at least an hour early. I happen to arrive maybe 10 minutes before it started and was already sold out. Thankfully a friend had an extra ticket. The toughest sumo wrestlers fight in the end and is the most anticipated part of the game. Be sure to stay till the end for a once in a lifetime cultural experience of Japans national sport.
What an amazing place to watch Sumo! The facilities are nice and the arena is well laid out, however it could use some more update electronic displays. Just saying...
I didn't see sumo here but instead the Persona Live concert, and it was just one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I very much enjoyed this style of venue because the stage is in the center so everyone is just that much closer to the action and all of the dancers and singers would make sure to move to each section so everyone got a view. Sumo style seating is a little different which is good to know when you're buying tickets. You buy space in a square and they put four people in them, so if you're shy make sure to purchase all four spots so you're not in a super tight space with two other strangers. Luckily my friends agreed to come along with me and my husband even though they didn't have close enough to the amazing time I had, but they were good sports.
Nice place! The chairs could use a little more space for the legs though.
