I’ve seen a lot of temples and I’m not easily impressed. This one is lovely. Not overrun with tourists. Suitably impressive building. A nice path with torii gates. Pleasant gardens. Peaceful. A bit off the beaten track but worth a visit in my opinion.
Very nice shrine. Really worth walking through. It was not busy on weekdays. And it was really peaceful.
Peace of mind. Specially beautiful in the Spring with all the flowers. Highly recommend.
When you're in Japan its important to become one with the culture. This place provides an amazing inside into the culture of Japan and how it's people worship their god. You can wash your hands at the water station, get a fortune from the shop and tire it around a rope to make the wish come true. The only down side is that so many people are there taking photos with the arch ways. They need to learn to have respect. It does make for a good Instagram post.
Nezu Shrine is a shrine for many seasons. Be sure to visit it for the Azalea Festival and the Nezu Grand Festival, but come both during the day and evening if you can, as the flora is peaceful during the day, and the lights and performances on the outdoor Noh stage are magical at night. Explore the back pathways and many Tori gates - the grounds are larger than they first seem! In all, a beautiful place with a small but very beautiful mikoshi portable shrine.
