111 Inabachō, Nakagyō-ku, Kyoto, 604-8803, Japan
Absolute must for those who are interested in learning some history, how to swing a katana, and also a little zen meditation. Everyone who works there is absolutely amazing. Masato Tabata gave excellent information with out being over bearing, the translator was on point, and the rest of the staff were so helpful, whether getting you into your samurai attire, or even helping take photos for you. And the best part, it didnt feel like a tourist trap or a "museum" that you walk through in 10 minutes. Cant recommend enough.
Very knowledgeable guide and spoke very good English. I love guides who are very passionate about the subject and I thought this was the best thing I’ve booked during my japan trip. Highly recommend. Very small tour group so you get that intimate learning :)
Historical, educational and fun. This place made me want to stay in Kyoto and do samurai training.
Amazing experience! Extremely friendly staff, one of whom is a fluent English speaker and is approachable, easy to understand, and a very talented swordsman. Beautiful house as well. A must do for anyone interested in Japanese history and culture.
We loved this! Great for my 9 and 11 year old boys who loved practicing Throwing ninja stars and using blow guns. Make sure you stay for the guided tour as you'll learn so much about samurai history in Japan. Ther demonstration of samurai and ninja skills was awesome and we loved dressing up as samurais!
