A very unique experience. Costumes, music and stage sets were beautiful. It’s in many ways a type of opera that is Japanese. We stayed for three plays which took a total of 4.5 hours. You can bring food into the theater to eat during intermission. Many people did this. We found seating to be very comfortable.

The plays are separated in multiple parts between about 30 mins and 2 hrs. You can book the whole play in advance online I believe, but you can also come for just one part. For example, a 30 min part is probably enough to get the experience and costs only 500¥. In contrast, the whole play costs around 4000¥. So I would recommend to come here (from about 10:00 AM to 20:00 PM) and just buy a ticket on site. I haven't actually seen a play, but the building itself looks pretty impressive.

Kabuki was one of my most unusual experiences. Never seen anything like that. The performance is very weird, if you don't take an e-translator, you'll probably won't get what's going on. The intonation, the music, the costumes - everything seems to be from some other planet. Anyway, I was fascinated. I recommend taking a single-act ticket. To do that, come early in the morning (about 10 a.m.) and take the line. The whole show lasts for 4.5 hours and the ticket costs 4-18 thousand yen. Single-act ticket costs 500-1800 yen (20-100 minutes). These tickets can be bought only at the theatre for only one person (the one in the line). Note this if eager to come.

I can't say much about this place, besides the view from outside and also the gift shop that's located downstairs in the basement level. I liked it. I just wish I had the money to go and enjoy a Kabuki play. I can't wait till that day comes. I adore Kabuki theatre. I've only seen them on screen though never in person.

It was definitely an interesting experience. We bought tickets a few hours before the show at the theater and by that point there was only standing room seats left. These seats are really far back up so you will have some trouble seeing parts of the show and will probably get tired from standing for more than an hour. The plays are usually all in Japanese so I would definitely recommend paying the money and getting the translations. The play itself was ok. I felt that the sets weren't very impressive. It was hard for me to judge the acting since it was in a different language. We only bought tickets for the first act which felt a bit too long. The outside of the theater is nice and at least worth looking at if you are in the area.
