Lovely story. This is a small but lovely statue that comes with a nice story of this very loyal dog. It is beside the Shibuya station and pretty much between there and the Shibuya scramble crossing. Famous in Japan, and surely this story has been heard by many around the world. Touching tale....
What else did you expect? It's a statue of Hachiko. So many people taking photo. But there's a cute bus there, so it's a plus. And you can walk in Shibuya later too. Have fun
Near the Shibuya crossing, you can easily walk to Hachiko memorial statue. The faithful dog that waited for his master to come home everyday. The master passed away and the dog did not know but waited faithfully each day until his passing. The statue was made to honor the faithful dog. It’s always pack with tourists who wants to take a snap shot of the statue. Can not miss the statue as you can see a mob of tourists in front of it. Worth visiting it if you are in Tokyo.
If you've never seen a dog before or are afraid they will bit you, try to approach this one. be prepared to stand in line. if you like it, don't take a picture but adopt a dog.
Always crowded when I come to this place. The statue needs to be managed by local goverment for pictures as it already more famous ever since. In Shibuya crossing, when you just arrived from Shibuya station, you will easily see this small statue
