Piazza Eremitani, 8, 35121 Padova PD, Italy
This place is meditative, spiritual, artistic, transcendent, illuminating, inspiring, beautiful...incredibly modern for its time, and so beautiful to see it without crowds.. the pleasure to walk around freely in this sacred space. Reserve ahead of time, because the entry is timed to 15 minutes and limited to 15 persons at a time. You can easily spend at least 30 minutes - we bought back-to-back entry tickets so we could stay longer. So worth it!
Hands down one of the best artistic experiences of my life. This timed visit showcases the frescoes with fantastic biblical narratives. I booked several visits on the same evening and was lucky enough to be the only visitor in the chapel for one of the sessions. What a gift!
Giotto's masterpiece is shown in all its splendor, the first kiss in the history of world art awaits the visitor among human faces torn by grief or full of love. Impossible to remain indifferent to this splendor. Interesting introduction to the visit, while waiting to recreate the appropriate microclimate so as not to ruin the work. Always book in advance and introduce yourself 10 minutes before. It seems that in November, at 12am, the light is perfect!
Don't even know how beautiful the Cappela could be coz they have the most USELESS ticketing company ever, I've spent 15 min registering, clicking and figuring out just to BUY a ticket. PLEASE SORT IT OUT! make it easy for people to give you money and come to see your art! you are loosing customers like that.
Stunning. How is this not better known? Maybe it is and I'm just clueless, but we ended up in Padua due to Venice flooding and Padua was lovely and this was absolutely as beautiful as art I've seen in bigger cities. Reserve in advance and definitely worth it.
