Via Clavature, 8/10, 40124 Bologna BO, Italy
Free to enter, but you can pay €5 (€3 for students) to also see the statues hidden behind a big board. They're actually incredibly emotive. I honestly didn't expect much but was taken aback at the emotion I felt when I saw their faces. I think it's better in real life than the photos can capture. Incredible craftsmanship from hundreds of years ago, made from terracotta!
As many others, we came across this church while meandering the streets around city center. It showed the exhibiton was closed on Mondays but the shrine itself was open and it was beautiful. Felt nice to switch from the warm sun and busy day to the cool and calm inside.
A really very nice church both externally and internally. For those wondering, it's free, there is no entrance fee, like all the churches in Bologna
Given the number of beautiful churches in Bologna, it's easy to get numb. Santa Maria della Vita will probably be your stop after being in San Petroniu, the huge basilica around the corner. Don't let your visit to that church stop you from checking this one out.
Free to enter, small but very beautiful
