As a genoese, I couldn’t be happier that Mercato Orientale has opened all the food stands in the middle. Food is of great quality and cheap enough - the city of Genoa was definitely needing this. A must.

Standard neighborhood market. All fresh and some restaurants and bars with good service, would come back without a doubt.

Errr.... not actually that amazing. I've been to "gourmet" food halls in a number of countries before but this falls short of the mark. Tacos are expensive - 2 for €6. The pizzas are a weird bready wheat invention that shouldn't even try positioning itself as pizza. The pasta is uninspiring and more expensive than other dishes. The venue is cool and the service is OK but for these food halls to work the food has to be special. Unfortunately the food here is below par compared to similiar priced establishments in Genoa.
