This is a must experience for anyone. I have done it a few times. The last with a friend who has been to venice several times. This was a first for her. It fun and romantic. The prices are fair. Just have a good time. Day or night. When they start singing its fantastic.

Loved it! I recommend finding a gondola in a small street, even though the most popular spot is the grand canal. I went in July and the grand canal was super crowded, but smaller streets have available gondolas which ride through the smaller canals, so the ride is quiet and very enjoyable. We paid 80€ for 4 people. Our gondolier was great, he pointed at important sites and sang a little.

The highlight of my Italy trip was this gandola ride in Venice . As soon as you get out of your train station , you are surrounded by these another level beautiful water bodies which are basically back waters . A treat not only to eyes but to the soul . Everything is so pretty that it seems right out of a postcard . I thought I was a part of a hi end Hollywood film .

Great , we are a family of 6 ,My kids liked the gondol trip, The Gondolier didn't sing 😏He said if he sung we would jump off 🤣, The most important part was the small talk with him , The cost of 80€ is acceptable as you will probably never do it again, Today 25.07.2019 wasn't busy at all. Really though if your in Venice it's a MUST do thing , maybe by the year 2100 it won't be possible due to rising sea water and climate change , I wish everyone who visits Venice a fantastic day out .

Too expensive. May be try for experience sake. Gondoliers will rip you off if you don't bargain. And if they sing they charge more. Lol. Don't get gondoliers near the grand canal. Go look for rides on inner canals. Other than these, gondolas were nice.
