Via Garibaldi, 00165 Roma RM, Italy
The Janiculum terrace offers one of the best views of the city free of cost. What’s most special is the canon which a group of soldiers roll out and fires off a blank at noon. Beware, it is very loud, and can be heard throughout most of Trastevere to give you a sense of range; however, most people do without covering their ears. You can also find a famous monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi here which is worth a trip to see all by itself. You can find the canon about 30 meters in front of the monument in-line with the direction Garibaldi is facing. It is one level below and can be viewed at equal level or from above.
Nice statue but not a must see really
I went on the night. They had beautiful views and nice place to have a walk after your dinner. I’m not sure if they do all year but on summertime when I went they had food track as well. If you came by car it not easy to find car park you need to drive around couple time. Only few place to park...
Great view to the city of Rome. Perfect to just sit there forbsome time and enjoy the view and italian gelato or espresso.
Superb! A tradition so old and respected without fault! Take a lunch break, climb the 2nd hill as high in Rome and enjoy the beautiful view and at 12:00 exactly you will see how they will shoot with the cannon to announce the time.
