Via Salaria, 430, 00199 Roma RM, Italy
Loved it! It is not very crowded and gives a good overview of the catacombs. They offer tours on different languages
Having already visited the bigger and better known catacombs in Rome, we decided to meander to Catacombe Di Priscilla on our last day in Rome. What a hidden gem this turned out to be! Make sure you arrive before 11:20am or after 2pm. We were able to spy a church service as well. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’d like to escape the crowds in Rome and gain an insight into the history of the early church. Note: Remember to show respect as this is a sacred space (i.e. no photos). Don’t spoil the tour for others by running away from the guide and hiding in the tunnels.
The Catacombs in all its size most be amazing, but the guided tour only gets leads you through a very short extension. The guide (tour in English) was not bad, but did not impresse me. I have been in other Catacombs in Rome, like Saint Calisto and those were much better from this point of view, in my opinion.
Amazing to think some 60,000 bodies laid to rest in this massive subterranean burial site of early Christians. Rome is an amazing city.
This is a cool place. You can have one idea about life of Christians in early ages. Few people every tour (around 20) you don't need reservation. Price adequate, tour in english.
