Teatro Comunale di Bologna My wife and I were in a box with 3 local Italians from Bologna watching 'L'Italiana in Algeri' - Opera Next' staged in the Italian was sung in Italian. Very fine. A highlight of our trip. At intermission, go up stairs and look out over the street below. Just as they have done for 250 years. You may, as I did feel, a connection to the place. Facilities are in good shape. Go here and take in Italian Opera the Italian way.

Lovely theatre. Acoustics good too! Great view from higher seats if facing front. Recommended for a musical evening in delightful Bologna.

Saw Rigoletto with 3 others. Singing & Orchestra was good but production poor and confusing. Seats terrible, we were in the back row in 4 different adjacent boxes. Not sure why as there were spare seats for us to at least be 2 couples. No view of the stage when seated so had to stand for the whole performance. This "restricted view" was not brought to our notice when we booked. Caveat emptor! Still, and despite all, we enjoyed our evening.
