Via VIII Febbraio, 2, 35122 Padova PD, Italy
The highlight of my time in Padova. To visit this famous seat of learning was a great experience. There are hourly small-group tours in italian and english, the guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. The history is fascinating, and the anatomy theatre was very interesting.
The Bo' palace is the central headquarter of Padua university, one of the oldest in the world (after Paris and Bologna), dating from 1222. Notable features inside are the collections of coats of arms from ancient noble students, the pulpit where Galileo used to teach, and the anatomical theater, where students of old learnt from dissections on dead bodies, when elsewhere it was forbidden to do so.
Located in the heart of Padova this is one of the place where you will feel the history of the university of this amazing city.
Historical, educational & an incredible experience in Padua. One of Padua's highlights to most see. Unforgettable experience.
Incredible history, one of the first “independent” universities of Europe where luminaries from all over Europe and some beyond those countries come to study law and medicine without religious associations. Profound anatomy theatre in wood, that has survived until this day. Stunning halls where Galileo came to teach, claiming this to be one his favorite places and experiences of his lifetime. Tours available in English and comes with ticket purchase. Don’t miss this if you are in Padua, such interesting walls as well where many of the graduating class has created plaques commemorating their years there. University is still operational today which makes it even cooler!
