Inexpensive bar with a friendly enough staff. Great location. Appears to have a lively local crowd. Nothing fancy but a great place for a beer, wine, and people watching.

Cheaper then anything u can find in Rome. Full of people. You won't find boring posh stuff here... But who wants it anyway?

Cheap (very) bar in Trastevere. No food, just drinks. Pay first, get your drinks after. Fast service. Crowded from eight to ten, then people go for dinner elswhere. Live music in the square.

"I used to come to San Calisto with my grand-father when I was a kid". This is how a Roman customer started painting me his memories of this legendary place. As a visitor, it was nice to be able to hang out and talk with "locals" on the terrace. I loved the open and authentic (probably quite left-wing!) atmosphere of this place and will hope to come back one day. Saluti ;-)
