I came here with a group of coworkers for dinner. The restaurant is literally up a winding staircase and is just across the river from the Temple bar area. They have an open concept and you can see right in the kitchen which I really like. The menu is simple and short and the food high quality with a good pace to the service. I had the Irish Seafood Chowder, which was a white chowder loaded with fish. I wish they had pulled the mussels out of the shell as it was clumsy to get the meat out of the shell in a soup, but I did really like the soup. I had the hake for the main and it came over a cheddar mash and was simply amazing. The wine list was good, but the prices seemed too high. The service was very good and overall I recommend.
I went to The Winding Stair last night for dinner. I had the potted crab with homemade brown bread to start and the dumplings for my main course. The potted crab was incredible, it was The Best crab dish I have ever had. I highly recommend it. The service was great and the employees were very pleasant. I will definitely go back soon.
Great experience of one of the famous Irish whiskey. Tour guide was excellent. I learned a lot of information about making whiskey and drinking whiskey. It was interactive, funny and tasty.
Best steak I’ve ever had living in Europe for 10 years. Almost as good as the steak in Texas. Great service. FYI - No beer.
Superb location with a view of the river. Menu varies according to season. Amazing wine list, including by the glass! I enjoyed a wonderful Irish trout for lunch along with a glass of Rhone blend. Service was impeccable! (I'd left a gift bag at my table, and he miraculously tracked me down amongst the crowd on the street.)
