A local landmark. A must visit and experience if you're in West Cork. Locals and tourist alike. Emigrants, those of Irish descent no matter how distant DO NOT MISS THIS on your itinerary. If you have no Irish in you, all the more to visit.! The Famine experience and trail should be done by everyone at least once! The heritage centre is a credit and a huge attraction for Skibbereen Management and staff run this AMAZING place with a diligent professionalism.

Very fascinating information. Be sure to do the actual tour, the historian that guided the exhibit is incredibly knowledgeable and presented a ton of info in a very exciting way. We were very awestruck by the presentation and would say it's a must see to anyone travelling to Ireland to understand the impact of the famine on the culture and community.

Very informative exhibition with a lot of first hand accounts. The size was just right - the subject matter is pretty harrowing - it was concise and factual. Highly recommend for people with little knowledge of the famine and those who would like a refresher.
