1.5 hour boat ride to Great Skellig is definitely worth it. Make sure you take pills against sea sickness, if you or someone from your group have weak stomach.

Expensive boat Fee but it is totally worth it. We went there from Ballinskelligs with the force awakens. The captain David is a really nice guy and tried to leave as early as possible to get there in time. We had nearly finished our Tour when the big pack of tourist arrives and could focus us on the Puffins at the bottom. If you'd like to See Puffins up close you there's the spot. The scenery is just breathtaking and the guides are just wonderfull

Amazing place and an amazing trip. The seas are rough, so be warned if you get seasick. The climb up is not too strenuous if you take your time, plant each foot firmly, and don't get distracted. It is well worth it. The views and the monastery are simply incredible. It's a place you will never forget.

We took a landing tour through Skelligadventure.com with Jamie Duff. Highly recommend to go during summer months as there are nesting puffins. We also saw dolphins and seals on our ride out. The steps are easily doable by even moderately out of shape individuals. There are plenty of stopping points. One of my favorite things from our trip.
