This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen in Indonesia. The hike to the waterfall itself is amazingly fun. The view is stunning and it's adequately challenging. Too bad when I came, there was not enough water for swimming. I think it's better to visit this place during or after the rainy season.

Both waterfalls are easy to reach. The path is slightly slippery and there are rocks on the way because of the earthquake. Bring shoes with good grip and also flip flops for river crossing. You DO NOT need a guide, people from the other reviews here are exaggerating (or they have never hiked before). It's easy to find your way. If for some reason you get lost just follow other groups, there will always be other people doing it

Scam alert: there are several paths leading to the waterfall. Make sure you take the path near the BNI ATM. You will be ripped off at the other one. Entrance is 10k IDR per person. Taking a guide is absolutely unnecessary for the first waterfall, and only optional for the second. The path to the second is quite easy, and very doable if you have any hiking experience whatsoever. The route is clear enough to go without a guide. We did not encounter any river crossings now at the end of September. But I can see where you could cross the river to avoid more technical sections of the path. I'd advise to go early. We went in around 9 and were practically alone. When we started walking back from the second waterfall, it started to get (much) busier.

Tiu Kelep waterfall is really beautiful, eventhough an earthquake hit this area last year and caused major changes on the waterfall and the surroundings. You DON'T NEED A LOCAL GUIDE TO THIS WATERFALL. JUST IGNORE THE PEOPLE OFFERING SERVICES

Great waterfall that is easy to get to. You can get very close or even under the main waterfall and you can also buy food and drinks here. There are toilets of questionable quality, but toilets nevertheless 😉 You can also walk a bit further to get to the next waterfall, about 15-20 minutes away. Beware of the few monkeys around and don't tease them.
