The biggest airport hub in Indonesia. 3 terminals; T1 & T2 were built long time ago in the past and because of that it has very unique design that might be only few left around the world that still this “satellite” gate design. And the youngest of the 3 is the T3 Ultimate. And yes, T3 is bigger, fancier, and seems more advanced than its sisters. But T3 gate configuration seems somewhat makes people wonder. It has very long aisle stretches that makes people have to walk very long way from big numbered gates. Just doesn’t resemble her two sisters. Don’t be confused for many security clearances in airport since it all the same with hotels and malls around Indonesia. Must be somewhat related to security rating or else. Each terminal has its own restaurant and shopping area, but T2 is better than T1, and T3 is the best of all. Can take Kalayang to get you around those three terminals or to the airport train station.
Clean and spacious airport. The latest airport is way better than the old one. Came through this airport for like 3times or more already. Consistency of cleanliness is great, toilet is well handled. The systems are great, management for f&b are impressive. Keep up the great work. Hopefully all airlines can move here entirely
Clean and spacious airport, given that it's the main hub for all international flights and also Indonesia main airport. It doesn't have any specific downside in my opinion, but from terminal 2, the distance to the shuttle bus terminal is a bit too far. It's not a bad thing. Also, at least the schedule for shuttle bus is always on time.
T3 Jakarta Airport could be great with a little more thought. Travelled through this airport last week - arrival was quick and easy apart from the extraordinary long walk from gate to immigration. Terminal was light and airy and plenty of space to collect luggage. I think I was lucky as it was a quiet time Sunday morning so got through immigration in a few minutes. However departure last Friday afternoon was a different story. Long walk to get to check in, Long Queue for security screening and again for immigration in a cramped, hot and humid area. Then the extraordinary long walk to the lounge - I should have guessed it wasn't going to be easy when the check-in lady offered me a lounge pass OR a meal voucher! I mistakenly opted for the lounge (Star Premium I think ) which was located a very long way from immigration and the SQ gate - and when I got there it was so crowded there were hardly any seats left. And it was also very hot and sticky - OK if you were returning from a Bali holiday in shorts but not in business clothes. Food was actually good - as were the staff but obviously they need to look at enlarging the place and installing proper air conditioning. I also think the seats - or at least the stools need recovering with leather or a washable surface as they were very food stained. Architecture and airy atmosphere of terminal was good - with a bit of work on more travellators, much better air-con and expansion of the security/immigration area this would be a great airport.
Take ages to wait your checked baggage to come out on terminal 3. Baggage handling should be absolutely improved. 40 min waiting is not acceptable. Secondly, distance from out of the plane to immigration is far. Should provide in-terminal transport all the time.
