A monkey sanctuary that the Balinese hold as sacred. This forest contains a large troupe of monkeys that have become accustomed to people and are not afraid to unburden you of your possessions in search of food (we had our souvenir puzzle stolen because it looked like a fruit, luckily it was dropped soon after). Be cautious in the area but do enjoy the beauty and get a good photo with the monkeys.

Beautiful Forest with a local temple (not accessible) and great paths through the park. Several Monkey tribes live in the Forest and the nearby areas. As visitor, always follow the safety guidelines so the monkeys (wild animals!) are not disturbed (they can act aggressive if they feel threatened) and don't steal your stuff. Better bring only a small bag that you can guard (some monkeys know how to get inside the bags ;-). Never underestimate them and consider yourself a guest in their forest then you have a great time.

This is a great place to go. I love the absolutely beautiful scenery with the old carvings and the buildings, the bridge, the river and so forth. And there is plenty of monkeys. But be careful. The monkeys are getting used to tourists and they will take anything that looks like food or drinks so make sure to hide it away before entering!

Nice experience where you can see monkeys very close in the middle of the forest. It also makes for a nice walk in the nature, with several temples within the park. Be careful to your belongings, the monkeys tend to be little thieves! The animals are very nice if you respect them (if they jump on you, do not scream or move abruptly).

It’s really nice if you forget some other visitors who are disrespectful with animals. I visited the forest in the morning first hour of opening, it was really beautiful to see monkeys interacting with each other in such a peaceful place. But an hour later (around 10am) many tourists with children came, paying no respect to the animals literally throwing rocks at them, which made them of course aggressive. I only spend 2 hours there but still had great memories about this magical place.
