Mount Mahawu, Kakaskasen Satu, North Tomohon, Tomohon City, North Sulawesi, Indonesia
It's a bit difficult to find the gathering point. If u go one ur own makes sure u ask locals very often Which way to take coz the street signs are wrong. The site was beautiful, lake is dry though. You can walk around the volcano and get some very good photos. Between the 2nd and 3rd stop you can even find a tiny hidden path to go down the volcano. Doesn't look safe though so don't try. Was very good hiking, a bit exhausting. Make sure you take enough water. Entrance fee was like 10k or so
The most easy hiking trail in North Sulawesi, so much too see here, from the rare birds and plants, inactive crater, there's also mountainbike trail here. With elevation of 1200m above the sea level you can see Bunaken, Siladen, and Lembeh island from here if the weather is good.
A very beautiful scenery from the summit of Mahawu. The walk is quite easy to the summit, and you can also walk around the rim. When its clear, you can find a beautiful photo over the Bunaken and Manado Tua island
Worth the hike. Be sure to not go up where the boring stairs are :)
Too modest... need more point of interest surrounding that crater.
