What an awesome experience! I’ve seen many waterfalls, but Gitgit tops them all. When you find the location it looks like a tour guide-parking lot. You are able to just park for the day for a $5 and opt out of a guide but be prepared to say “no thanks” a few times. Then you just cross the street and make your way down a tropical trail with a few stalls selling souvenirs. At the bottom of the descent is the waterfall. You are at your own risk so step carefully as the rocks are covered in moss and mist. It was very relaxing and awe inspiring to sit a while just listening to the water and feel how powerful the surge is. If you go early in the morning there’s not many people and no fight for a few pictures. Please remember to never buy souvenirs from children, as this promotes child labor and also puts them at risk with strangers.

Really nice waterfall. With reasonable hike down and up. If you want to avoid tourists get here early in the morning or before sunset. As this place "close" at 5 (mostly only shops on the way) and there is no one at that time.

BEWARE OF TOURIST TRAPS - when you arrive they ask first for 5K for parking (with a ticket) but then you quickly get swarmed by "guides" who tell you that you must have one to enter (false, you only pay 20K at the entrance). Their extortionists rates are outrageous, someone paid 300K PER PERSON to enter. The path is straightforward. You do not need a "guide".

Gitgit is my hometown, my grandparents live near the waterfall. This is my personal experience when I visited Gitgit Waterfall. From the parking area we have to walk about 500 meters to arrived at the waterfall and while we walk we can also see a wonderful view of nature and some traditional shop when we go to this natural place. We can take some beautiful pictures and playing water because the water in this waterfall were very cold. This place surrounded by trees so we can feel the nature heal our soul. Hopefully this review can help you guys 😉 ❤️

Very nice waterfall that is easy to get to. Also the entrance fee is not very high, 20k each if I remember right. Just be sure to reject any guide offering you his services. The path goes around local sellers and takes about 10-15 minutes. Eventhough it was dry season, there was enough water and the waterfall was strong, and yet the pond underneath was accesible. Nice place to see, worth it.
